Passings

Sparklehorse
shot himself through the heart
in an alley outside a friend’s house.

Mr. Linkous developed a style
that sent sunny, Beatles-esque
melodies through a filter of
crackling, damaged
folkrock. His songs were filled
with entropic imagery.

He was born to a family with
roots in the coal-mining country.
