According to the survey in the latest Writer's Market, the average advance on a novel is about $14,000; writing reviews for a magazine can generate about $1 per word; ghostwriting speeches for government officials averages about $2,500; and crafting corporate newsletters can pull in about $3,500. (Note: Averages may vary depending on where you live, your experience, and the quality or financial stability of the press or magazine.)

Who is Thomas Pitre

Retired educator and trainer, having worked in adult ed., private vocational ed, community colleges, colleges and university environments lecturing, developing and writing curricula and delivering on-line training in a variety of subjects.

Tom has a B.F.A., M.A. and Ph.D. His undergraduate work was in English, Education, Fine Art and Art History.
